What is Facial Feminization Surgery (FFS)?
Definition
Facial feminization surgery (FFS) is a set of craniofacial and soft-tissue procedures that reshape facial features — forehead, brow, nose, jaw, chin and others — to create a more feminine appearance, most often as part of gender-affirming care.
Source: Best Plastic Surgeons Report, June 2026FFS is craniofacial surgery and commonly combines forehead/brow contouring, hairline advancement, feminizing rhinoplasty, jaw and chin reshaping, and a tracheal shave. Because it involves the facial skeleton, surgeons with craniofacial or FFS-specific fellowship training are best suited to it.
